The day job revolves around IT, IT Consultancy and Marketing Services for small and large businesses alike (more below). But there are other interests as well.

Pubs
I love pubs! – I decided to write a fun book – called the "Pub Survival Guide" with anecdotes of my pub experiences over the years, along with information on pub history, etiquette, how to get served etc.
What a joy! I loved writing it. Anyway, i got it reviewed by people I know (all pub users of course) and they all said what a great enjoyable read it was- so much for me thinking it was just for the inexperienced pub user!

I do this for quite a number of Companies and the activities are varied. Here is a broad list of them:-
Website design and build - website management – SEO - project management - marketing list management - sales proposal strategy and writing – training – marketing material design – high level system design – and more......

It has been pointed out by friends that I am a bit of a perfectionist. Not always a good thing I know, but guilty - I do have that focus! Stack things in your favour, if you are sloppy then you are handicapping yourself.
I have a broad range of skills in software tools for a variety of applications, which I often use both for my own business but also for my customers. But I will say that my main aim and focus is on using my breadth of experience to enable my customers and associates to achieve their aims in the most effective way This will sometimes mean (but not always, and by no means even often) that I will select (or recommend) external suppliers who are particular specialists in their field – please note that I have considerable project management experience.
To give you some confidence that I can and do back this up with a certain amount of knowledge, here is a brief resume of my IT background.
I started in computers so long ago that I won't mention when!. So as not to bore you to death, I will just register that I have worked in the industry in operations, programming, systems analysis and design, customer support, project management and implementation, sales (both software and hardware systems) and sales management. Software Company Director and so on - I think you get the picture.
I have supplied systems, consultancy, and designed systems, managed and implemented projects for companies small and large. I won’t mention the small ones here, because you will not have heard of them, but they are very important to me. But to name drop some of the larger ones, a selection is British Telecom, ING Bank (Netherlands), BMW, EDF (former London Electricity), Southern Water, More Than (former Royal Insurance), Hoover, Scottish Amicable, ICL/Fujitsu – oh, and so on!.....
This breadth of experience enables me to contribute to the progress of large and small companies alike.
